Our monthly mission focus for October 2021 is on our domestic ministries, as we are highlighting two of our local ministries: City Rescue Mission, New Castle, PA, and the Westminster College Student Food Pantry.
From October 24 – November 14 we will be collecting donations for the Thanksgiving Baskets for needy families in the New Castle area. Items that are needed: canned yams, canned gravy, stuffing mix, evaporated milk, cranberry sauce, pie crust mix, pie filling (fruit or pumpkin), canned vegetables. A turkey can be donated for $15.00 (mark “birds” on the memo line). A grocery cart and baskets will be located at the church doors.
There is a continuing need for food for Westminster College students: canned fruits and vegetables, canned pasta meals or chili, canned or non-refrigerated packaged meat, tomato sauce and pasta, boxed meals as macaroni and cheese, boxed mashed potatoes, rice, canned soups & broths, crackers, cold & hot cereals, nut butters, jams and jellies, and snack bars. Other non-perishable, practical items are also welcome! A collection bin is located by the door near the library.
