Help Wilmington Students Through “Our SHOP”

New Wilmington Presbyterian Church is partnering with the Wilmington Area School District for the Our SHOP (School Helping Our People) program.

The goal of this project is to provide our students with a resource for common everyday needs – clothing, school supplies and hygiene products – within the school itself. The vision is to create a culture where students feel a community of support and where they have immediate means to acquire appropriate resources, especially when times are tough at home.

The resource room will be available for Wilmington Area School District students in grades 5-12. It is located across from the cafeteria.

A separate checking account has been set up specific to this project. Financial contributions can be made to:

WAHS – Our SHOP
350 Wood St
New Wilmington, PA 16142

Donated items that would be most beneficial for Our SHOP: new socks, new shoes, new or gently used winter coats, winter hats, gloves or school spirit wear, as well as deodorant, body soap, hand sanitizer and school supplies like backpacks, pens, pencils, pencil boxes, highlighters, markers, notebooks, note cards, binders or color pencils.

There is a box in the Ligo Room at NWPC for donated items.

If you have questions, please contact: Karen Wallace (NWPC contact) at kgkwallace@gmail.com, or Emily Mortimer (high school teacher and initiator of project) mortimer@wasd.school.
