Vacation Bible School returns to New Wilmington Presbyterian Church, June 10-14, 2019. VBS is for children who just completed grades K-6 and there’s a shortened class for preschoolers as well. There’s a kickoff event 6-7:30 p.m., Monday, June 10, for all participants and regular classes are 9 a.m. to noon, June 11-14 (9-10:30 a.m. for preschool).
Registration forms are available in the Ligo Room at NWPC or you can email Linda Black at linda@nwpresby.org for a form or to request more information. Friends are welcome but everyone must complete a registration form in advance.
This year’s theme is ReNew and the NWPC and it includes the following three missions:
- Mission One: Using the Parable of the Sower and the Soils, as told in Matthew13, Mark 4 and Luke 8, we’ll see that God’s Word is like a SEED sown in our hearts. If we understand and act on what God is saying, it will produce an amazing harvest of good fruit: we’ll grow in faith with more love for God, for others and for creation.
- Mission Two: We’ll understand the spiritual process through the physical needs and growth of seeds. Seeds sprout, put down roots, push up stems and eventually produce fruit with their own seeds tucked inside.
- Mission Three: God calls us to be good stewards of this marvelous gift of creation. We’ll consider how we can be GREEN by recycling, reusing, upcycling, and free cycling.
At VBS we’ll have a blast, making seed bombs, sprouting seeds to eat, and planting a pizza garden to take home. We’ll engage in stories, play wild games and create awesome art expressions. We’ll make music and eat fabulous snacks. We’ll enjoy a field trip. All of this will happen in a community of friends and farmers (volunteers) who assist our growth.
